Sorry it’s been a while, but we’ve been throwing everything we’ve got at making Konkura better and better for sportspeople and fitness fanatics.
We’re really pleased with recent developments and hope you’ll enjoy them too.
The most fun change is the introduction of K-Points. K-Points are awarded for taking part in sport and fitness challenges. The higher up you rank in a challenge, and the more other people who are taking part in it, the more K-Points you’ll be awarded. So the more active you are, the higher your overall ranking on the site.
We’ve taken this a couple of stages further and introduced a Sportiest country leaderboard and Fittest City leaderboard, so your K-Points will also contribute to your country’s and town/city’s ranking.
Macclesfield UK is currently the world’s fittest city, but that’s because it’s where we’re based, and the default location if users don’t set their location!
Users who repeatedly complete the same challenge (for example, a regular training challenge) can now view a plot of their score history from the leaderboard, so they can see how their score changes over time. Or they click on another user’s entry to see their score history, with their own scores also plotted for comparison. It makes Konkura even more useful for serious sportspeople and club training if you can see how your performance improves over time.
You can also now search for competitors based in your town or city if you want to link up with people with the same interest (obviously taking the usual precautions if you plan to meet people in real life who you only know online).
In challenge leaderboards you can now hide anyone who hasn’t posted a photo or video to support their entry.
It’s the final month of the Plyometric Jump Squat challenge to win a pair of ASICS training shoes. Check out (and vote for the best of) the current entries, or add your own and get people to vote for you quickly for your chance to win.
Stay tuned for plenty more improvements that are in the pipeline, and make sure you get your friends involved so you can get active together!
Phil, Team Konkura
