We’ve just updated Konkura so that challenges can be kept private to you and your Konkura friends. Whilst other people will be able to see your sport, fitness and exercise activities, they’ll only be able to join in if they are a friend of whoever created the challenge.
All existing challenges on the site remain open to all, but if you’ve created a challenge and want to restrict future access, you can edit your challenge and opt to make it private.
Private challenges are great if you want to compete in a pretty specific challenge (e.g. based on a particular route) amongst a group of real-world friends, or if you’re worried about people cheating, posting nonsense scores or using incorrect technique (although remember you can also keep a challenge open to all, but use the challenge wall or the moderation tools to explain what the problem is, reset a cheat’s scores or warn them about their conduct in a challenge)
Of course, if you come across a challenge you really want to join, but that the creator has made private, you have two options – either send the creator a friend request (you might also want to send them a direct message to explain why you’re interested in joining) or create your own version of the challenge that’s open to all (or just to your friends!)
We hope you enjoy this latest change and, as always, value your comments and feedback.
